Savci Environmental Technologies, LLC (S.E.T.) is a multi-disciplinary environmental science and engineering consulting firm based in Littleton , Colorado . Since its inception in 1997, S.E.T. has been providing specialized environmental science and engineering services (ranging from site investigations to final closure) for mining, waste management, oil and gas, and other industrial clients and legal firms specializing in these areas. 

 

In the last 11 years, we successfully developed, conducted and completed over 200 environmental consulting and engineering design project for our natural resources clients most of which are Fortune-500 Companies.  These projects with budgets ranging from less than $5K to more than $5M, are located in Arizona , Colorado , New Mexico , California and Nevada . The projects are managed and conducted by our qualified and highly motivated technical professionals and associates. 

 

Our current workload includes: large scale hydrogeologic investigations, site characterization for mine sites, radiochemical and geochemical investigations, engineering design for containment and collection structures, closure designs for mine and CERCLA sites, mine reclamation and groundwater remediation. 

Because of our high quality of services and our client satisfaction, we are growing.  In order to meet our current workload and diversify our client-base for potential future growth, we are seeking HIGHLY MOTIVATED, WELL-QUALIFIED TECHNICAL PROFESSIONALS to join our firm.  Our small and highly technical work environment promotes staff to build their consulting practice within their own technical field and/or be mentored and developed by our senior professionals. 

S.E.T. is currently seeking qualified applicants for the following technical and project management positions:

 

PROJECT MANAGER/SENIOR SCIENTIST-ENGINEER

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:   Candidates for senior positions should have 7 to 10 yrs professional experience with MS or Ph.D degree in hydrogeology, civil/environmental engineering, geology, geochemistry or related fields.  These candidates should also have experience in Junior Staff mentoring, supervision and project management.  The successful candidate will be expected to establish and maintain client relationships. 

Excellent communication, organizational and report writing skills are required.  Experience in mining environmental field and professional certifications (EIT or PE, PG and OSHA and MHSA) are a plus. 

All position may require travel.  In addition, candidates are required to be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excell and Power Point; Access is a plus). 

JOB DESCRIPTION:  This position will focus on S.E.T.’s current environmental investigations and engineering design projects for mining clients.  Job responsibilities include acting as a technical lead in preparing Work Plans, RI/FS, report writing and designing and management of environmental field programs. 

 

TECHNICAL FIELD REQUIREMENTS:  Candidates should be experienced in at least 7 of the bullet items below:

  • characterizing the geology and hydrogeology of hazardous waste and/or mining sites using both traditional (borehole drilling and well construction) and rapid (cone penetrometer testing/HydroPunch) site characterization techniques;
  • soil and groundwater sampling;
  • data reduction (fluent with Microsoft Office programs) and evaluation.
  • geochemistry and/or radiochemistry
  • groundwater and surface water characterization, evaluation
  • aquifer testing and data evaluation using AQTESOLV and/or AQUIFERTEST or similar)
  • groundwater flow (e.g., MODFLOW or similar) and transport (e.g., MT3D or similar) modeling;
  • surface water hydrology and modeling;
  • unsaturated zone hydrology modeling and design;
  • management of CERCLA and hazardous waste site characterization projects;
  • design of groundwater extraction and in-situ groundwater treatment systems.
  • design of storm-water management systems including diversion structures, containment ponds and drainages (e.g., French drain);
  • surface water hydrology and modeling;
  • unsaturated zone hydrology modeling and design;
  • design of soil cover systems (e.g., regrading and capping of tailings, waste rock stockpiles and landfills);
  • environmental and design work experience in metal mining; and
  • management of CERCLA and hazardous waste site characterization and design projects.

 

 

S.E.T. also have position for Junior and Mid-Level Environmental Scientist and Engineer Positions 

 

Candidates for junior positions should have a minimum of 4 yr-college degree in hydrogeology, geochemistry, Environmental Science/Engineering or similar (M.S. is a plus).  Professional experience is a plus.  Mid-Level positions should have 3 to 5 yrs professional experience.
